On highway N-24 “Blahovishchenske \u2013 Mykolaiv”<\/strong> near the village of Lukashivka<\/strong> of the Syniukhobrid community<\/strong> in the Pervomaiskyi district<\/strong>, a fatal road traffic accident occurred involving a passenger car and two trucks<\/strong>. This was reported by the Mykolaiv police<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The accident happened on 27 May<\/strong> 2026, at approximately 15:00<\/strong>. According to preliminary information from law enforcement, a 69-year-old driver of a Hyundai Accent<\/strong> lost control and collided with an Iveco 75 E<\/strong> truck driven by a 21-year-old driver<\/strong>. After the impact the Iveco<\/strong> truck went into a ditch. At the same time the Hyundai<\/strong> became uncontrollable and collided with another truck \u2014 a MAN TGX<\/strong>, behind the wheel of which was a 37-year-old driver<\/strong>. After the second collision the MAN<\/strong> went onto the shoulder and overturned. As a result of the accident an 84-year-old passenger of the Hyundai Accent<\/strong> suffered injuries incompatible with life and died at the scene. The driver of the MAN<\/strong> sustained bodily injuries. The Iveco<\/strong> driver, according to the police, was not injured.<\/p>\n

Investigators have preliminarily qualified the incident under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> \u2014 violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of transport by persons driving vehicles that caused the death of a victim. The sanction of this article provides for up to eight years of imprisonment<\/strong> with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years<\/strong> or without such deprivation. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances and causes of the fatal accident. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
