The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration (OVA), Vitaliy Kim, invited South Korean construction and engineering companies to directly participate in reconstruction projects in southern Ukraine. He said this in an interview with the newspaper The Korea Herald<\/a> during a visit to South Korea.<\/p>\n

The invitation concerns participation of Korean businesses in rebuilding bridges, airports, ports, and shipbuilding enterprises. Vitaliy Kim said that Ukraine is offering Korean companies the opportunity to join one of the world’s largest economic recovery projects.<\/p>\n

“We invite Korean companies to take part in one of the largest economic recovery projects in the world”, – he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Priority projects for Mykolaiv include a suspension bridge project, reconstruction of the destroyed airport, and modernization of four shipbuilding yards.<\/p>\n

Separately, Vitaliy Kim noted that he would welcome visits by Korean business delegations to the region, despite the restrictions in place because of the war.<\/p>\n

“I will ask my government to accept your delegation. And I guarantee your safety”, – assured the head of the Mykolaiv OVA.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

For the Mykolaiv region, which has lost part of its infrastructure due to Russian aggression and still lives under high security risks, the involvement of strong engineering and construction companies could become an important factor in recovery. But residents of the region will be waiting not only for loud statements after international meetings, but for specifics: which companies will come in, which projects will receive funding first, and when this will become visible in their communities.<\/p>\n
