This is almost <strong data-start=\"917\" data-end=\"929\">1.3 times<\/strong> fewer than in <strong data-start=\"948\" data-end=\"961\">2015<\/strong>. At the same time, the number of children attending kindergartens has fallen by almost half over <strong data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1029\">10 years<\/strong>. These data were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slovoidilo.ua\/2026\/05\/22\/infografika\/suspilstvo\/yak-zmenshuvalasya-kilkist-ditej-dytsadkax-protyahom-10-rokiv\">published<\/a> by the outlet &#8220;Slovo i dilo&#8221; based on information from the State Statistics Service and the Institute of Educational Analytics.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1223\" data-end=\"1505\"><strong data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1244\">2015\u20132019:<\/strong> the number of kindergartens in Ukraine remained roughly at the same level \u2014 <strong data-start=\"1313\" data-end=\"1333\">14.8\u201314.9 thousand<\/strong>. This figure included nursery-kindergartens, family, combined, special and sanatorium types, as well as educational complexes for preschool-aged children. Despite the stable number of institutions, there were not enough places for everyone. About <strong data-start=\"1604\" data-end=\"1626\">1.3<\/strong> million<strong data-start=\"1604\" data-end=\"1626\"> children<\/strong> attended kindergartens, and for <strong data-start=\"1633\" data-end=\"1646\">100 places<\/strong> there were from <strong data-start=\"1664\" data-end=\"1689\">105 to 114 children<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1692\" data-end=\"1950\"><strong data-start=\"1724\" data-end=\"1743\">2020\u20132021:<\/strong> during the coronavirus pandemic the number of operating kindergartens was at its highest \u2014 more than <strong data-start=\"1798\" data-end=\"1810\">15 thousand<\/strong>. They were attended by from <strong data-start=\"1831\" data-end=\"1849\">1.111<\/strong> million to <strong data-start=\"1853\" data-end=\"1877\">1.151<\/strong> million<strong data-start=\"1853\" data-end=\"1877\"> children<\/strong>, and the load per place decreased to <strong data-start=\"1917\" data-end=\"1932\">96\u201398 children<\/strong> per <strong data-start=\"1936\" data-end=\"1949\">100 places<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1952\" data-end=\"2247\"><strong data-start=\"2016\" data-end=\"2029\">2022<\/strong> \u2014 after the start of the full-scale war the situation changed sharply; <strong data-start=\"2050\" data-end=\"2065\">13.9 thousand<\/strong> kindergartens were operating in the country.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1952\" data-end=\"2247\"><strong data-start=\"2079\" data-end=\"2092\">2023<\/strong> \u2014 already <strong data-start=\"2099\" data-end=\"2114\">13.5 thousand<\/strong>. The number of children also fell significantly: in <strong data-start=\"2160\" data-end=\"2173\">2022<\/strong> kindergartens were attended by <strong data-start=\"2192\" data-end=\"2212\">934 thousand children<\/strong>, in <strong data-start=\"2216\" data-end=\"2229\">2023<\/strong> \u2014 <strong data-start=\"2232\" data-end=\"2246\">862 thousand<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2249\" data-end=\"2604\"><strong data-start=\"2251\" data-end=\"2264\">2024<\/strong> \u2014 in Ukraine <strong data-start=\"2285\" data-end=\"2300\">12.8 thousand<\/strong> kindergartens were operating, attended by <strong data-start=\"2328\" data-end=\"2347\">846 thousand children<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2249\" data-end=\"2604\"><strong data-start=\"2351\" data-end=\"2364\">2025<\/strong> \u2014 the number of institutions decreased to <strong data-start=\"2398\" data-end=\"2413\">11.8 thousand<\/strong>, and the number of children \u2014 to <strong data-start=\"2433\" data-end=\"2446\">743 thousand<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2249\" data-end=\"2604\">As of May <strong data-start=\"2466\" data-end=\"2479\">2026<\/strong> the figure fell further \u2014 to <strong data-start=\"2513\" data-end=\"2528\">11.6 thousand<\/strong> kindergartens and <strong data-start=\"2541\" data-end=\"2565\">712 thousand children<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2606\" data-end=\"3023\">In Mykolaiv this problem also has a local dimension. It was previously reported that the city has <strong data-start=\"2698\" data-end=\"2712\">43 kindergartens<\/strong> with shelters, and the total shelter capacity in preschool institutions is about <strong data-start=\"2796\" data-end=\"2813\">16 thousand people<\/strong>. At the same time kindergartens are attended by about <strong data-start=\"2852\" data-end=\"2872\">7,800 children<\/strong>, so the city formally has spare places, but issues of safety, shelters and network optimization remain key.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3025\" data-end=\"3282\">For frontline <strong data-start=\"3043\" data-end=\"3056\">Mykolaiv<\/strong>, the reduction of the preschool network is not just dry statistics.
