On the night of 24 May <\/strong>2026, Russia carried out another massive attack on Ukraine,<\/b> using, according to preliminary data, 90 missiles<\/strong> and about 600 drones<\/strong>. The vast majority of this weaponry was used against Kyiv<\/strong>. The strike was one of the largest against the capital: damage and destruction were recorded in all districts of the city.<\/p>\n

According to updated information from the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko<\/strong>, the number of people injured in the capital rose to 44<\/strong>. Of them, medics hospitalized 28 people<\/strong>, including two children<\/strong> in moderate condition. Another three injured<\/strong> are in serious condition. 16 people<\/strong> received outpatient care.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the National Police had earlier reported 34 wounded<\/strong>, among them also two children<\/strong>. According to preliminary data, as a result of the night attack one person died<\/strong>. Due to constant updates, the figures changed throughout the morning as services continued to work at the strike sites.<\/p>\n

According to city authorities, no district of Kyiv<\/strong> was left without consequences from the Russian attack. The greatest destruction was suffered by the Shevchenkivskyi District<\/strong>. There, fragments of missiles and drones damaged two residential buildings<\/strong> and an office center. Cars were burning in a parking lot. The vestibule of the metro station “Luk’yanivska”<\/strong> was also damaged, so it will be temporarily out of service.<\/p>\n

In the same district people were trapped in shelters at a school and an office center: due to damage to the buildings exits were obstructed or blocked. Rescuers and other emergency services were working on site.<\/p>\n

In the Darnytskyi District<\/strong>, fragments of a “Shahed”<\/strong> and missiles damaged a dormitory building, several non-residential premises, an auto repair shop and cars. In the Obolonskyi District<\/strong> an enemy drone hit a private one-story residential house<\/strong>. Near another house a UAV caught fire, and a fire also broke out in a 16-storey building<\/strong>, which spread to a neighboring building.<\/p>\n

In the Dniprovskyi District<\/strong> fragments fell on the roof of a residential building. Also, after a UAV hit a private house a fire broke out. In addition, a warehouse building and a garage cooperative were damaged.<\/p>\n

In the Sviatoshynskyi District<\/strong> rocket fragments fell on a one-story private home<\/strong>. On the Podil<\/strong> district fragments were recorded falling on the territory of non-residential development. In the Holosiivskyi District<\/strong> rocket fragments fell on the roof of a 24-storey residential building<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the Desnianskyi District<\/strong> UAV fragments hit the buildings of a supermarket and a shopping center. In the Solomianskyi District<\/strong> a drone struck at the level of the 23rd floor of a 24-storey residential building<\/strong>, after which ignition and destruction of structural elements occurred.<\/p>\n

In the Pecherskyi District<\/strong> a UAV strike on a 20-storey residential building<\/strong> caused a fire. City authorities reported that all services are working on site, eliminating the consequences of the attack and assisting those affected.<\/p>\n

The massive attack on Kyiv<\/strong> once again showed that Russia continues to deliberately strike residential buildings, civilian infrastructure, shelters, transport and places where civilians were staying at night.<\/p>\n
