The bout took place near the pyramids in <strong data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1091\">Giza<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1093\" data-end=\"1103\">Egypt<\/strong>, and ended with a technical knockout in the <strong data-start=\"1139\" data-end=\"1155\">11th round<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1196\" data-end=\"1628\"><strong data-start=\"1196\" data-end=\"1214\">Oleksandr Usyk<\/strong> is one of the main symbols of Ukrainian sport in wartime: an Olympic champion, an undefeated professional and a boxer who has repeatedly used his victories to remind the world about the war of <strong data-start=\"1414\" data-end=\"1423\">Russia<\/strong> against <strong data-start=\"1430\" data-end=\"1441\">Ukraine<\/strong>. <strong data-start=\"1443\" data-end=\"1460\">Rico Verhoeven<\/strong> is a Dutch kickboxing star, a multiple champion and a fighter who for this match switched to the boxing format to face one of the world&#8217;s strongest heavyweights.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1630\" data-end=\"2001\">The fight turned out to be much tougher for the Ukrainian than many expected. <strong data-start=\"1698\" data-end=\"1710\">Verhoeven<\/strong> worked actively in the ring, had the advantage in the number of punches thrown and for a long time forced <strong data-start=\"1797\" data-end=\"1806\">Usyk<\/strong> to look for a turning point. According to <strong data-start=\"1845\" data-end=\"1856\">Reuters<\/strong>, before the <strong data-start=\"1864\" data-end=\"1880\">11th round<\/strong> the judges&#8217; scorecards showed either an even fight or a minimal advantage for the Dutchman.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2003\" data-end=\"2338\">The decisive moment came at the end of the <strong data-start=\"2037\" data-end=\"2053\">11th round<\/strong>. <strong data-start=\"2055\" data-end=\"2063\">Usyk<\/strong> landed a right uppercut between <strong data-start=\"2098\" data-end=\"2111\">Verhoeven<\/strong>&#8216;s hands, after which the Dutchman went down to the canvas. He rose before the count finished, but the Ukrainian immediately continued the attack, and the referee stopped the fight, recording a victory by technical knockout.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2003\" data-end=\"2338\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?23\" data-telegram-post=\"korabelov_info\/113436\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2340\" data-end=\"2509\">For <strong data-start=\"2344\" data-end=\"2353\">Usyk<\/strong> this was his <strong data-start=\"2363\" data-end=\"2381\">25th victory<\/strong> in his professional career. The Ukrainian remains undefeated in the professional ring.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2511\" data-end=\"2829\">After the fight <strong data-start=\"2521\" data-end=\"2539\">Oleksandr Usyk<\/strong> did not limit himself in the ring to talking only about the sporting result. Answering a question about the importance of the victory, he reminded viewers that at the same time <strong data-start=\"2686\" data-end=\"2697\">Ukraine<\/strong> is under a massive Russian attack, and his compatriots are forced to hide in shelters.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\">\n<p data-start=\"2831\" data-end=\"3089\">&#8220;This is very important to me, but right now my people in Ukraine are in bomb shelters, under attack. My daughter wrote to me: &#8220;Dad, you will win&#8221;. Rico, you are extraordinary. My team, I love you, you are the best. Kateryna, you are my life and my heart&#8221;, &#8211; said Usyk.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"3091\" data-end=\"3379\">Usyk&#8217;s victory in <strong data-start=\"3112\" data-end=\"3122\">Egypt<\/strong> was not just another title defense.
