At Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 29, <\/strong>which is located in the Korabelnyi district, the magistral (non)conference mini-EdCamp Mykolaiv took place under the slogan “Hold the line: unite, grow, believe”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event, which Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 29 has held seven times already, this time went beyond a purely city-level occasion and became an all-Ukrainian platform for educators. Teachers from 15 regions of Ukraine joined it.<\/p>\n

Active educators from Mykolaiv institutions joined the organization and participation: Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 29, Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 26, Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 36, Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 18, Mykolaiv Lyceum No. 58, Mykolaiv Lyceum No. 9 and the Mykolaiv Lyceum named after Professor Aleksandrov.<\/p>\n

The organizers separately noted that 40% of participants attended an EdCamp-format event for the first time. In their view, this indicates renewal and growth of the community of responsible teachers in the Mykolaiv region.<\/p>\n

The program was built around the themes of resilience, unity and the development of education during the war. The opening of mini-EdCamp Mykolaiv began with an address from the EdCamp Ukraine team, motivational activities and introductions to the experts of the first and second parallels. The event hosts were Larisa Hrytsiuk and Nataliya Kolisnichenko.<\/p>\n

The panel discussion took place under the slogan “Education for life: we hold the line through quality, safety and unity”. It included Ivan Yuriychuk, Deputy Head of DSYaOU, Nadiya Leshchyk, Educational Ombudsman, Kateryna Molodyk, coordinator of the Office for the Implementation of NUS at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Tetiana Vakulenko, Director of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment, as well as representatives of Mykolaiv educational institutions.<\/p>\n

Within the first expert parallel “Grow” professional teacher competencies, internal systems for ensuring education quality and the protection of employees’ rights were discussed. In a special session “Trajectory of Integrity” Olesya Chaikivska from the city of Pivdenne in Odesa region and Iryna Tomych from Khmelnytskyi Lyceum No. 9 spoke.<\/p>\n

During the second expert parallel “Believe” participants talked about partnership, mutual support, creating a safe educational environment and communication with students about artificial intelligence. Among the speakers were Oleksandr Dumyshynets, Oleksandr Datsenko, Halyna Sishchuk, Yulia Rudnytska and Nataliya Kolesnichenko.<\/p>\n

Three teacher parallel sessions were held under the slogans “Let\u2019s Unite” and “Grow with SEEN”. Special attention was given to social-emotional and ethical learning in Mykolaiv schools, in particular at Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 29 and Mykolaiv Lyceum No. 58. Teachers analyzed practical cases on how to help children and colleagues overcome stress, develop empathy and create a safe space for learning.<\/p>\n

Among the special moments of the event, the organizers highlighted the tandem of generations, when teachers and students presented sessions together. This became an example of pedagogy of partnership, where the child’s voice matters on an equal footing with the adult’s voice.<\/p>\n

A separate charitable purpose was a fundraiser in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine<\/strong>, in particular for the 34th Separate Marine Brigade<\/strong>. Together the participants collected 5,570 hryvnias<\/strong>, which were already handed over to help the defenders through volunteer Dmytro Antonenko<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The EdCamp Mykolaiv organizing committee and the staff of Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 29 thanked all participants, experts and speakers, as well as the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to hold the event.<\/p>\n
