The SBU press service reported this on <strong data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1106\">May 15<\/strong>, 2026, the <strong data-start=\"1129\" data-end=\"1136\">SBU<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1139\" data-end=\"1283\">According to the service, scammers present themselves as officials of the <strong data-start=\"1198\" data-end=\"1205\">SBU<\/strong> or other state bodies to intimidate people and seize their funds. Initially, fraudsters contact a person and begin to pressure them with fabricated criminal cases. They may claim that the citizen is allegedly suspected of treason, financing <strong data-start=\"1475\" data-end=\"1481\">Russia (RF)<\/strong>, or purchasing prohibited goods. To increase psychological pressure, perpetrators often send a messenger a <strong>fake summons-call<\/strong> to an interrogation. After that they offer to &#8220;resolve the matter&#8221; and supposedly avoid punishment. In most cases, the fraudsters demand that money be transferred or handed over to them &#8220;for verification&#8221; or &#8220;to avoid criminal liability&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1837\" data-end=\"1971\">The <strong data-start=\"1839\" data-end=\"1865\">Security Service of Ukraine<\/strong> emphasizes that such actions<strong> are fraud<\/strong>, and citizens need to be vigilant and not give in to threats. <strong data-start=\"1973\" data-end=\"1980\">The SBU<\/strong> advises in such situations to record the details of the persons who made contact:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2051\" data-end=\"2225\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1j4x2hq\" data-start=\"2051\" data-end=\"2103\"><strong>write down the phone number from which the call came;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"12fyuo2\" data-start=\"2104\" data-end=\"2137\"><strong>save screenshots of the messages;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"hozj5x\" data-start=\"2138\" data-end=\"2177\"><strong>do not delete correspondence in messengers;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"znvv8y\" data-start=\"2178\" data-end=\"2225\"><strong>do not rush to respond to demands for money.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2227\" data-end=\"2374\">Ukrainians are separately urged not to share confidential bank card details and not to make urgent money transfers at the request of unknown persons.
