In the Chernivtsi Oblast<\/strong> police solved the murder of a 21-year-old resident of the village of Kolinkivtsi<\/strong> of Chernivtsi Raion, who was initially declared missing. The woman’s body was found buried on the premises of the household<\/strong>. This was reported by the police of the Chernivtsi region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A report about the disappearance of the young woman was received by the police on May 4<\/strong> from her husband. He said that after an argument his wife allegedly left home and did not return. After that, law enforcement launched a set of operational-search and investigative actions to determine the woman’s whereabouts and clarify the circumstances of her disappearance. According to the investigation, those involved in the crime are a 47-year-old father-in-law<\/strong> of the deceased and her 23-year-old husband<\/strong>. It was preliminarily established that on May 1<\/strong> a conflict arose between the woman and her father-in-law, during which the man strangled his daughter-in-law.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the police, the husband of the deceased witnessed the murder. After that he, together with his father, helped hide the body.<\/strong> The police reported that the woman’s body was buried in the garden<\/strong> near the house, and the plot was then cultivated with a tiller. During the inspection of the household territory, law enforcement officers found the deceased’s body. Her hands were tied, and there was a plastic bag on her head. The final cause of death will be determined by a forensic medical examination.<\/p>\n

According to law enforcement, the suspects tried to create the appearance that the woman had gone missing. In addition to filing a report with the police, they sent messages to her phone urging her to return home and made small transfers to the deceased’s bank card with the payment purpose “Come back”.<\/p>\n

Operational officers, investigators, forensic experts, forensic medical examiners, canine handlers, prosecutors and other relevant services worked at the scene. Law enforcement seized a number of physical evidences. Both suspects were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine<\/strong>. Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, opened a criminal proceeding under p.12 ch.2 art.115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> \u2013 intentional murder committed by prior conspiracy of a group of persons.<\/p>\n

The issue of notifying the detained of suspicion<\/strong> and choosing a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody<\/strong> is currently being decided.<\/p>\n
