The draft provides amendments to the Law of Ukraine <strong data-start=\"1189\" data-end=\"1211\">&#8220;On Road Traffic&#8221;<\/strong> to bring the rules closer to <strong data-start=\"1242\" data-end=\"1248\">EU<\/strong> standards.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1289\" data-end=\"1806\">The document provides for an update of the vehicle classification, namely:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"174\" data-end=\"467\">\n<li data-section-id=\"auufv8\" data-start=\"174\" data-end=\"261\"><strong data-start=\"176\" data-end=\"182\">AM<\/strong> &#8211; mopeds and light two-wheeled vehicles with a speed of up to <strong data-start=\"247\" data-end=\"260\">45 km\/h<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1wh935f\" data-start=\"262\" data-end=\"308\"><strong data-start=\"264\" data-end=\"270\">A2<\/strong> &#8211; motorcycles with power up to <strong data-start=\"297\" data-end=\"307\">35 kW<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"17nwl7e\" data-start=\"309\" data-end=\"388\"><strong data-start=\"311\" data-end=\"316\">B<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"318\" data-end=\"323\">C<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"325\" data-end=\"330\">D<\/strong> &#8211; clarification of requirements regarding mass, dimensions and number of seats;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"16zavio\" data-start=\"389\" data-end=\"467\"><strong data-start=\"391\" data-end=\"397\">D1<\/strong> &#8211; vehicles of no more than <strong data-start=\"427\" data-end=\"439\">16 seats<\/strong> and a length of up to <strong data-start=\"454\" data-end=\"466\">8 meters<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1808\" data-end=\"2008\">One of the key changes &#8211; the principle of gradual access to driving. This means that more complex or more powerful vehicles will not become available immediately, but depending on the driver&#8217;s age, category and experience.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2010\" data-end=\"2574\">Under the proposed rules,<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"571\" data-end=\"1043\">\n<li data-section-id=\"11xhdk6\" data-start=\"571\" data-end=\"636\">from <strong data-start=\"575\" data-end=\"587\">15 years<\/strong> &#8211; mopeds and light two-wheeled vehicles;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1dba3ti\" data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"724\">from <strong data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"653\">17 years<\/strong> &#8211; categories <strong data-start=\"666\" data-end=\"671\">B<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"680\">BE<\/strong>, but only when accompanied by an experienced driver;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1usl8ci\" data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"823\">from <strong data-start=\"729\" data-end=\"741\">20 years<\/strong> &#8211; powerful motorcycles of category <strong data-start=\"772\" data-end=\"777\">A<\/strong>, if there are <strong data-start=\"786\" data-end=\"796\">2 years<\/strong> of experience on category <strong data-start=\"816\" data-end=\"822\">A2<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"bm29l2\" data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"896\">from <strong data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"840\">24 years<\/strong> &#8211; direct access to category <strong data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"875\">A<\/strong> without experience on <strong data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"895\">A2<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"100tryq\" data-start=\"897\" data-end=\"951\">from <strong data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"913\">24 years<\/strong> &#8211; buses of categories <strong data-start=\"935\" data-end=\"940\">D<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"944\" data-end=\"950\">DE<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"oajzhf\" data-start=\"952\" data-end=\"1043\">from <strong data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"967\">21 years<\/strong> &#8211; buses of categories <strong data-start=\"989\" data-end=\"994\">D<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"998\" data-end=\"1004\">DE<\/strong>, if the driver has professional training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2576\" data-end=\"2909\">A separate section of the bill concerns digitalization. Electronic driver&#8217;s licenses and electronic vehicle registration certificates in <strong data-start=\"2719\" data-end=\"2728\">&#8220;Diia&#8221;<\/strong> are to receive the same legal force as paper documents. At the same time the <strong data-start=\"2800\" data-end=\"2810\">Cabinet of Ministers<\/strong> must determine the procedure for processing and protecting personal data.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2911\" data-end=\"3092\">The explanatory materials to the bill emphasize that the main goal of the changes is to <strong>improve road safety and move to the European model of control over driver training.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3258\" data-end=\"3622\">The document also provides more detailed grounds for terminating a license, suspending the right to drive or declaring a license invalid. In particular, a license may be declared invalid if<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1487\" data-end=\"1676\">\n<li data-section-id=\"11j5kwp\" data-start=\"1487\" data-end=\"1522\">the term of validity of the license has expired;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1wyk1dz\" data-start=\"1523\" data-end=\"1543\">the document is lost;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"z3e9tn\" data-start=\"1544\" data-end=\"1563\">the document is destroyed;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"zea0ik\" data-start=\"1564\" data-end=\"1588\">the license is stolen;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1ig9dx5\" data-start=\"1589\" data-end=\"1623\">the driver has exchanged the document for a new one;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1tv3gb\" data-start=\"1624\" data-end=\"1676\">the ready license was not collected within <strong data-start=\"1665\" data-end=\"1675\">1 year<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3624\" data-end=\"3870\">If a driver was deprived of the right to drive by a court decision, returning to the wheel may become more difficult. The draft provides that for <strong>restoring the right to drive one will have to undergo a medical examination and retake the exams.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3872\" data-end=\"4047\">At the same time, it is important that this is currently a bill, not an already adopted law.
