President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky<\/strong> May 6, 2026<\/strong> said that Russia has effectively broken the ceasefire by continuing active combat operations, assaults, and strikes with drones, aerial bombs and missiles.<\/p>\n

According to the head of state, after brutal strikes on Ukrainian cities and communities, including Dnipro<\/strong>, Zaporizhzhia<\/strong>, Kramatorsk<\/strong> and other populated areas, the Russian army did not stop during this day either. Zelensky<\/strong> emphasized that the aggressor country’s choice is an obvious rejection of silence and the preservation of human lives.<\/p>\n

Assault actions continue on all key sections of the front. Just since the start of the day, according to the president, Russian forces carried out almost 30 assaults<\/strong>. More than 20 air strikes<\/strong> were also recorded, using more than 70 aerial bombs<\/strong> just during the night and morning of May 6<\/strong>. In addition, at night the Russian army attacked Ukraine<\/strong> with drones of various types. Ukraine’s defense forces neutralized almost 90 attack drones<\/strong>. There were also missile strikes.<\/p>\n

As of 10:00 a.m. on May 6<\/strong>, according to Volodymyr Zelensky<\/strong>, the Russian army carried out 1,820 violations of the ceasefire<\/strong>. These include shelling, assault attempts, air strikes and the use of drones.<\/p>\n

The President thanked Ukrainian servicemen for defending positions and reminded that Ukraine<\/strong> had previously clearly stated it would give a mirror response to actions by the Russian side. He said that Russia, through media and social networks, insistently asked for “silence” during the Moscow parade, but continued the war itself.<\/p>\n

“For all normal people it is obvious that a full-scale war and daily killings of people are a bad time for public “celebrations”,” said Zelensky.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The President stressed that it is Russia that must end the war it is waging against Ukraine<\/strong>. He noted that even with the internet turned off and most Russians’ communications blocked, it is obvious: the Russian leadership can “come out of the bunker” and choose peace.<\/p>\n

According to Zelensky<\/strong>, Ukrainian diplomatic proposals are already with the Russian side. Only Russia’s willingness to move toward a real peace is needed, not to simulate it under the cover of holiday dates.<\/p>\n

As of May 6, 2026<\/strong> the president stated that the Russian side had broken the ceasefire. Further actions by Ukraine<\/strong> will be determined after evening reports from the military and intelligence services.<\/p>\n
