According to her information, <strong>64<\/strong> general secondary education institutions operate in <strong>Mykolaiv<\/strong>, of which <strong>52<\/strong> schools operate in-person, and another <strong>12<\/strong> operate in a distance format.<\/p>\n<p>By study format, currently <strong>59.92%<\/strong> of students attend classes in-person, another <strong>8.18%<\/strong> study under a blended model, and <strong>31.9%<\/strong> continue to receive education remotely.<\/p>\n<p>The head of the department noted that the trend of a decreasing student body is recorded every year.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\">\n<p>\u201cEven compared with the previous school year we have an outflow of <strong>3,000<\/strong> students. This shows that the average occupancy of schools and classes continues to decrease each year,\u201d said Hanna Lychko, head of the Department of Education of the Mykolaiv City Council.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/317880_69f325242053e4_09115424_1500-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-586002\" src=\"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/317880_69f325242053e4_09115424_1500-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1500\" height=\"852\" srcset=\"https:\/\/korabelov.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/317880_69f325242053e4_09115424_1500-1.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/korabelov.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/317880_69f325242053e4_09115424_1500-1-1200x682.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The trend in the number of schoolchildren over recent years is as follows.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2021\u20132022<\/strong> school year \u2014 <strong>46 304<\/strong> students.<\/li>\n<li><strong>2022\u20132023<\/strong> school year \u2014 <strong>44 437<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>2023\u20132024<\/strong> school year \u2014 <strong>41 107<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>2024\u20132025<\/strong> school year \u2014 <strong>37 814<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>2025\u20132026<\/strong> school year \u2014 <strong>34 616<\/strong> students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the same time, the city is preparing for a reform of upper secondary specialized education: it is proposed to approve the network of academic lyceums on <strong>September 1, 2027<\/strong>.
