In March <strong>2022<\/strong> the head of the <strong>Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration<\/strong>, <strong>Vitaliy Kim<\/strong>, stated that cars would be taken from drunk drivers for the needs of the army.<\/p>\n<p>But <strong>16,606<\/strong> court cases is a completely different scale. A case under art. <strong>130<\/strong> does not automatically mean confiscation of the vehicle. To speak of an actual transfer of cars to the Armed Forces, specific court decisions, seizure reports and transfer documents are required.<\/p>\n<p>For comparison: <strong>Latvia<\/strong> has made the transfer of confiscated cars to <strong>Ukraine<\/strong> a systematic practice. There, cars taken from drunk drivers are regularly sent to Ukrainian military and state structures.<\/p>\n<h2>AWOL: Mykolaiv Oblast in the top three<\/h2>\n<p>A separate painful issue is <strong>3,110<\/strong> cases in the group &#8220;unauthorized leaving of a military unit&#8221; in the <strong>Mykolaiv Oblast<\/strong> under art. <strong>407<\/strong> of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>By this indicator <strong>Mykolaiv Oblast<\/strong> is among the top three in <strong>Ukraine<\/strong>. Only <strong>Dnipropetrovsk Oblast<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>8,335<\/strong> \u2014 and <strong>Kharkiv Oblast<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>4,432<\/strong> \u2014 show more such cases on the map.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2022<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>249<\/strong> cases;<\/li>\n<li><strong>2023<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>409<\/strong> cases;<\/li>\n<li><strong>2024<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>913<\/strong> cases;<\/li>\n<li><strong>2025<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>1,539<\/strong> cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thus, over <strong>4<\/strong> years the oblast&#8217;s figure increased more than <strong>6<\/strong> times. This is one of the most noticeable dynamics on the entire map.<\/p>\n<h2>Road accidents: criminal and administrative<\/h2>\n<p>The map divides road accidents into <strong>2<\/strong> large groups. Criminal road-traffic incidents are cases involving more severe consequences. Administrative accidents are mostly under art. <strong>124<\/strong> of the Code of Administrative Offences.<\/p>\n<p>For <strong>Mykolaiv Oblast<\/strong> over <strong>2022\u20132025<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1,253<\/strong> criminal road-traffic incidents;<\/li>\n<li><strong>9,386<\/strong> administrative accidents without criminal charges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Criminal road-traffic incidents in the oblast increased each year: <strong>241<\/strong> cases in <strong>2022<\/strong>, <strong>280<\/strong> in <strong>2023<\/strong>, <strong>330<\/strong> in <strong>2024<\/strong>, <strong>402<\/strong> in <strong>2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Sexual crimes: 139 cases in the oblast<\/h2>\n<p>In the group of rape and sexual crimes the map shows <strong>139<\/strong> cases for <strong>Mykolaiv Oblast<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Separately under art. <strong>152<\/strong> of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, i.e., rape \u2014 <strong>101<\/strong> cases for <strong>2022\u20132025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>2022<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>17<\/strong> cases under art. <strong>152<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>2023<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>24<\/strong> cases;<\/li>\n<li><strong>2024<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>31<\/strong> cases;<\/li>\n<li><strong>2025<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>29<\/strong> cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are figures that cannot be called mere statistics. Behind each of them are real victims, real proceedings and real courts.<\/p>\n<h2>Draft evasion<\/h2>\n<p>Under art. <strong>336<\/strong> of the Criminal Code of Ukraine \u2014 evasion of conscription during mobilization \u2014 <strong>Mykolaiv Oblast<\/strong> has <strong>228<\/strong> cases for <strong>2022\u20132025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The highest number was in <strong>2023<\/strong> \u2014 <strong>91<\/strong> cases. Then the number fell: <strong>69<\/strong> cases in <strong>2024<\/strong> and <strong>50<\/strong> cases in <strong>2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Murders, domestic violence, collaboration<\/h2>\n<p>There are other figures that show the heavy backdrop of the war years:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>534<\/strong> cases in the group of intentional murders and other homicides;<\/li>\n<li><strong>316<\/strong> criminal cases of domestic violence;<\/li>\n<li><strong>15,653<\/strong> administrative cases of domestic violence;<\/li>\n<li><strong>535<\/strong> cases in the group of treason, collaboration and aggression.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What is important to understand<\/h2>\n<p>This map shows court cases specifically, not the full crime statistics. If an incident did not reach the court, it is not here.
