The panel of judges of the Korabelnyi District Court of Mykolaiv<\/strong> continues to consider the case of Sergii Kruglykov <\/strong>(known in criminal circles as \u201cKvadrat<\/strong>\u201c), who is accused of illegal possession of ammunition and the intentional murder of Arsen Muntyan<\/strong> – a 26-year-old resident of the Korabelnyi district, father of a young girl, shot dead near the \u201cATB\u201d supermarket in May 2024.<\/a><\/p>\n

The victim’s side notes that witnesses in this case do not always appear in court upon summons, and asks them to treat this matter more responsibly, since it is so important to prove the killer’s guilt in order to ensure a just punishment for the crime he committed.<\/p>\n

“Court hearings take place roughly once a month<\/strong>: witnesses are summoned (they even issue compulsory summonses<\/a>) – if they do not appear – the court is postponed, and so it goes in circles…<\/p>\n

There is a witness who at the police did not fear to tell the truth and pointed to Kruglykov, but now he does not come to court. Almost two years have passed since my husband’s murder, the trials are ongoing, and people who saw everything remain silent. This is very sad.<\/p>\n

I strongly ask witnesses, if anyone saw anything, to come and tell about it, confirm their words spoken then at the interrogation, because an innocent person was deprived of life<\/strong>“, – appeals to all involved the wife<\/strong> of the murdered Arsen – Yulia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The injured parties<\/strong> in the case, in addition to the murdered Arsen’s wife, also include Oleh Kichenko<\/strong> and Viktor Khanenko<\/strong>. One of them was wounded in the leg as a result of the shooting, the other in the jaw; both were hospitalized in different medical facilities.<\/p>\n

“The injured survivors are not telling the truth<\/strong>. One says he saw nothing, the other points to a completely different person, but that person has an alibi. That whole group knows the truth but covers for the killer because they live by their own code (prison code), that you do not turn each other in… At the same time, the court reviewed the victims’ phone correspondence (according to it, \u201cKvadrat\u201d on that fateful day came to defend his stepson, whom they had beaten earlier), and it contradicts their testimony in court, meaning it is clear that they are lying at trial,” – the publication’s own sources told Korabelov.info<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

However, recently there have been some developments. Yulia Muntyan claims that there is cumulative evidence in the case, video, analyses. And at one of the recent hearings the court reviewed written evidence where two witnesses pointed to Kruglykov: one points directly, and the other describes him by his clothing.<\/p>\n

By a court ruling of 19.03.2026<\/strong><\/a> the panel of judges (presiding Andrii Fedorchenko, Yana Cherniavska, Timur Korotkov<\/strong>) extended the preventive measure for the defendant in the form of detention in custody until 18.05.2026 inclusive.<\/p>\n

However, there is also worrying news: according to participants in the case, at the court hearing on 23 April 2026 <\/strong>the defendant was set a bail amount<\/strong> (4 million UAH<\/strong>), payment of which would allow him to be released from pre-trial detention.<\/p>\n

“One can only hope that he does not have such money… It is very hard to realize that our daughter knows her father only from a photograph. And even harder is that those who know the truth remain silent and cover for the killer…”, – says the wife of Arsen Muntyan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
