Surveillance camera footage was also added to the recording.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"968\" data-end=\"1183\">According to the investigation, a patrol police crew arrived at a call about a shooting and saw the wounded \u2014 a child, a man and a woman who required immediate assistance. Other people were nearby, including another child.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1391\">During the incident the wounded boy appealed to law enforcement asking them to help his father:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\">\n<p data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1391\">&#8220;Don&#8217;t save me, help my dad&#8221;, &#8211; the wounded boy told the police, after which they fled from the terrorist in Kyiv, leaving people in danger.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1393\" data-end=\"1576\">The officers were carrying service firearms and had lawful grounds to use them; however, according to the investigation, they actually fled, not taking measures to stop the attacker.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" data-start=\"1393\" data-end=\"1576\"><iframe style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Freel%2F1621884132447696%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=560&amp;t=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1578\" data-end=\"1821\">As a result the shooter was able to continue moving along the street and fire at civilians. Between <strong data-start=\"1670\" data-end=\"1708\">16:35 and 18:00 on 18 April 2026<\/strong> six people were killed in the attack, and another man later died in hospital \u2014 he became the seventh victim.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1578\" data-end=\"1821\">Two patrol police officers have been notified of suspicion under <strong data-start=\"1889\" data-end=\"1914\">part 3 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> \u2014 official negligence that caused grave consequences. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\">\n<p>&#8220;Sufficient evidence has been collected to notify two officers of the Patrol Police Department in the city of Kyiv of suspicion due to their actions during the terrorist act. They are charged with official negligence that caused grave consequences under part 3 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation continues&#8221;, &#8211; Kravchenko notes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) is asking to detain the two patrol officers who fled the scene of the terrorist attack in Kyiv:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"quote-light\">\n<p>&#8220;At the time of arrival officers saw an injured child and two adults with gunshot wounds, whom passersby were trying to help. The police were aware of an armed attacker and the real threat to people&#8217;s lives.
