The family of serviceman Ivan “Teren” Terentyev, who is originally from Mykolaiv, demands a re-independent forensic medical examination. Relatives are convinced that the man could have died a violent death, and do not agree with the previous conclusion about cardiomyopathy. This was reported by MykVisti on April 15, 2026, citing the deceased’s sister Olena, who provided the editorial office with official documents.<\/p>\n
According to the publication, 46-year-old Ivan Terentyev arrived at the training center of the military unit 425 of the separate assault regiment “Skala” in the Dnipropetrovsk region on February 25. The very next day, he allegedly complained of poor health, and died on February 28. The family, according to relatives, was informed about this only on March 7, when they handed over a “notification of the deceased serviceman”.<\/p>\n
The death report states that the soldier “has no physical injuries, he died in the medical center on a bed.” The certificate of cause of death indicates cardiomyopathy. But the family categorically rejects this version and states that there were signs of severe injuries on the body.<\/p>\n
“This is clearly a traumatic death. Half of the body is blue. The collarbone and ribs are broken, the neck is twisted. There are traces of an IV on the left arm – we were told that he was given help. His knees are torn off, as if he was dragged. The situation is extremely mysterious,” the deceased’s sister Olena told the publication “News in Brief.”<\/p>\n
According to the family, they also received photographs of Ivan Terentyev lying dead in a tent. The sister says that the investigative and operational group interviewed a doctor who reported: “Teren” arrived at the training center on February 25, and on February 26, he complained of feeling unwell, after which he was allegedly given IVs for two days in the same tent.<\/p>\n
The family was particularly indignant that the investigator, according to the sister, closed the case on March 13 due to the alleged absence of signs of violent death, without waiting for a full forensic medical examination. But on March 18, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office canceled this decision and resumed the consideration. The documents quoted by MykVista directly state: the available medical certificate of death is not an expert’s conclusion within the meaning of Article 101 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
In fact, the family is now seeking one thing: permission for a second independent examination, which could provide an answer as to what the Nikolaev resident actually died from. The story sounds especially disturbing against the background of other similar cases, when relatives of deceased military or mobilized soldiers do not trust the initial conclusions and demand a new autopsy and a separate investigation<\/p>\n
