In the Polish town of Przasnysz<\/strong> on the night of 19 February 2026<\/strong> two Ukrainian citizens were attacked with a machete, the district prosecutor’s office in Ostro\u0142\u0119ka<\/strong> reported.<\/p>\n

According to investigators, two local residents were involved in the incident. They attacked the Ukrainians because of their nationality, and the attackers themselves confirmed this motive during questioning.<\/p>\n

One of the victims was struck with a machete. His companion rushed to help, but was also wounded. Medics recorded cuts to the hands and fingers of both men.<\/p>\n

The attackers were stopped thanks to a resident of a neighboring house: he pulled the wounded man inside and managed to close the door, preventing further entry by the assailants.<\/p>\n

One suspect was detained immediately after the incident. The second hid for about a month but was later arrested as well.<\/p>\n

The perpetrators are charged with battery, threats of murder and the use of violence motivated by national hatred. The case is classified as a hate crime, punishable by up to 12<\/strong> years in prison.<\/p>\n
