In the settlement of Kazanka<\/strong> in the Bashtanskyi District on the morning of April 9<\/strong>, 2026, a road traffic accident occurred involving a minor motorcycle rider and a young child pedestrian.<\/p>\n

According to the police<\/strong> of Mykolaiv region<\/strong>, at about 08:20<\/strong> on Myru Street a Musstang XTREET<\/strong> motorcycle, which was being driven by a 15-year-old<\/strong> teenager, struck a 9-year-old<\/strong> boy. At that moment the child was crossing the carriageway at an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing.<\/p>\n

After the collision the motorcyclist left the scene but later returned. As a result of the accident the boy was taken to a medical facility with bodily injuries. According to doctors, his condition is of moderate severity. The motorcycle rider was not injured.<\/p>\n

Investigators have opened a criminal case in connection with this incident under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> \u2014 violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons operating vehicles.<\/p>\n

The article’s sanction provides for punishment of up to<\/strong> three years<\/strong> of restriction of liberty<\/strong> with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same period.<\/p>\n

At present law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances and causes of the accident. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
