In Mykolaiv<\/strong>, law enforcement exposed a corruption scheme involving a serviceman of a district TCC and his acquaintance, who profited from manipulations in the \u201cOberih\u201d system. According to the investigation, they deliberately created problems for people liable for military service, even if they had lawful grounds for deferment, and then offered \u201chelp\u201d for money. The suspects have already been notified of suspicion; they face up to 8 years of imprisonment<\/strong> with confiscation of property.<\/p>\n

By manipulating data in \u201cOberih\u201d, the serviceman, in prior collusion with an acquaintance, initiated the entry of false information into the information system about a person liable for military service who had a lawful right to a deferment. After that, the student was offered to \u201cresolve the issue\u201d for 500 US dollars<\/strong>, with a promise to remove him from the wanted list.<\/p>\n

As investigators established, the scheme had been operating since December 2025<\/strong>. A 34-year-old<\/strong> instructor of one of the district TCCs and SP of the city of Mykolaiv<\/strong>, together with his 32-year-old<\/strong> acquaintance, organized a mechanism for obtaining undue advantage. The serviceman entered false data into the \u201cOberih\u201d system about the alleged failure of the man to appear after being summoned to the TCC. After that, the victim was sent photographic evidence from the database showing that he was already listed as wanted \u2014 this was used as a tool of pressure.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the man had actually not violated the law, since he had a deferment as a student of a higher education institution. However, the suspects offered to \u201cclean\u201d the information in the database and to influence TCC and SP officials \u2014 for a fee.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement documented the transfer of money and exposed the suspects while they were dividing the received funds. The unlawful activity was stopped by investigators of the investigative department of the regional main police directorate with operational support from the SBU in Mykolaiv Oblast<\/strong>, under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense of the Southern Region.<\/p>\n

Both suspects have now been notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 3 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine \u2014 receiving an undue advantage for influencing the decisions of officials, combined with extortion. The court has already imposed a preventive measure on the 34-year-old<\/strong> suspect \u2014 detention with an alternative bail of 99,840 hryvnias<\/strong>. The question of a preventive measure for his 32-year-old<\/strong> accomplice is still being decided.<\/p>\n

Authorities are currently identifying other possible participants in the scheme and are checking additional incidents. The pre-trial investigation continues.<\/p>\n
