April 6, <\/strong>2026, details emerged about a failed operation to expose one of the senior employees of “Mykolaivoblenergo”<\/strong> \u2014 the deputy head of the energy inspection Oleksandr M.<\/strong>, who was suspected of receiving an unlawful benefit in the amount of UAH 74,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to information<\/a> from the Novosti-N outlet, it was not possible to detain the suspect during the transfer of funds \u2014 he quickly left the scene in a Lexus<\/strong>, and law enforcement had to pursue him. The man drove to the company’s branch building on Pogranichna<\/strong> Street and managed to run inside. The operatives who arrived behind him were not allowed into the premises by security due to the facility’s restricted status.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was at that time, it is believed, that the suspect discarded a package containing money. However, according to sources, the package may have contained not real cash but a so-called “dummy” or prop bundle. In any case, the package itself could not be found.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Law enforcement remained by the building and began searching the Lexus<\/strong>, having the appropriate court order. At the same time they controlled the entrance to the building to prevent the suspect from fleeing. The suspect’s father, who is knowledgeable about legal matters, arrived at the scene. In his presence the vehicle was examined, but no evidence was found.<\/strong> It later became known that Oleksandr M.<\/strong> managed to leave the building unnoticed through another exit.<\/p>\n

The next day he appeared at a meeting, but, according to available information, quickly realized that the situation had changed for him. He has since taken sick leave and has not returned to work.<\/p>\n

After the failed operation, internal reviews took place within the law enforcement agencies. At the same time, sources say the evidentiary base in the case has been largely lost: apart from several audio recordings there is no substantial evidence, and those recordings may face problems in court. Under such conditions, the prospects of proving guilt look doubtful.<\/p>\n
