The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced a simplification of the procedure for returning servicemen to duty after unauthorized absence from their unit; the changes were reported on the agency’s official page.<\/p>\n
Under the updated rules, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has removed intermediate instances in the processing of documents: from now on, appointment materials will be submitted directly from the military unit to the General Staff. This approach is intended to speed up personnel decisions, make transfers more transparent, and close opportunities for manipulation by certain officials.<\/p>\n
The General Staff emphasizes that the introduced mechanism does not change the conditions for returning to service after unauthorized absence from a unit. At the same time, a reduction in the risk of such situations is expected thanks to a more democratic procedure for transfer to the chosen military unit.<\/p>\n
The statement also outlines the approach to recommendation letters and the organization of paperwork during the movement of servicemen:<\/p>\n
\nRecommendation letters, which are now purely electronic, should not be used as a way to transfer from a combat brigade that is performing tasks on an active section of the front to a unit with more comfortable service conditions.<\/p>\n
In addition, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking measures to reduce paperwork in units regarding the processing of materials (orders, directives) related to the transfer of servicemen, in order to shorten the time for making personnel decisions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
