The head of the regional military administration Vitaliy Kim<\/strong> told a state agency in an interview that there is an acute shortage of doctors in Mykolaiv region, and even young specialists cannot be attracted to work in the area.<\/p>\n

The official clarified that last year the region applied for 200<\/strong> interns, but only 6<\/strong> actually arrived; of them only 1<\/strong> specialist took advantage of the 200<\/strong> thousand hryvnia payment provided for working in rural areas.<\/p>\n

To retain medical workers, local communities, according to the head of the regional military administration, provide specialists with housing and create basic living conditions.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2014 Communities also allocate housing for specialists. Such examples already exist in Bashtanka<\/strong>, Snihurivka<\/strong>. Thanks to this, it was possible to retain IDPs from Kherson region. In addition, in Domanivka<\/strong> modular houses were built thanks to international aid, which were also provided to IDPs: among them a doctor and a police officer, \u2014 Vitaliy Kim said.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

One of the measures to retain staff has been raising pay: additional funding is being attracted for some institutions, including for the multidisciplinary hospital in Ochakiv<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2014 By joint efforts we have achieved pay increases for medical staff. For example, the Ochakiv multidisciplinary hospital, where shelling occurs almost daily, received an additional aid package from the state that allows it to incentivize its employees, \u2014 he said.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
