Within a few hours, police from the Mykolaiv District Police Department<\/strong> located a man suspected of stealing a child\u2019s bicycle. The Mykolaiv Oblast Police<\/strong> reported this on March 14<\/strong>, 2026.<\/p>\n

A report about the incident was received on the emergency line 102<\/strong> on March 13<\/strong> from a resident of the regional center. The woman said that on a children\u2019s playground in the Lisky<\/strong> neighborhood an unknown man took her son\u2019s bicycle.<\/p>\n

At the scene, officers of the investigative-operational team of the Mykolaiv District Police Department<\/strong> established that an 11-year-old<\/strong> boy, together with friends, was playing on the playground on Kurortna Street<\/strong>. At about 16:45<\/strong> an unknown man approached the children who, ignoring remarks, sat on the child\u2019s bicycle and rode away from the scene. Within a few hours, operatives determined the whereabouts of the suspect. He turned out to be a 28-year-old<\/strong> local resident. As the police established, he rode the stolen bicycle to Soborna Street<\/strong>, where officers found him. Investigators seized the child\u2019s bicycle from the suspect and, under the procedural guidance of the District Prosecutor\u2019s Office of the city of Mykolaiv<\/strong>, informed him of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong> \u201cRobbery committed under martial law\u201d.<\/p>\n

For the offense, the man faces up to 10 years<\/strong> in prison. A court will soon decide on a preventive measure for the suspect. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
