A renowned Ukrainian historian, teacher, and blogger, Vitalii Dribnytsia, who has been battling cancer for nearly 10 years, has returned to work on his YouTube channel, Vox Veritatis — Voice of Truth. On the morning of October 19, 2026, he published his first video after a month-long break forced by treatment in Germany.

The historian’s return was announced on Facebook. Despite his serious illness and the need to undergo complex therapy, Vitalii Dribnytsia decided to resume his educational work and once again challenge Russian historical myths.

In September, the historian had to pause the release of new videos and travel to Germany to continue treatment. At the time, he warned his subscribers that the break might last a month or even longer.

As Korabelov.info reported earlier, on October 10 the blogger got in touch with his followers and posted photos from Germany on Telegram. The pictures showed mushrooms and buildings belonging to the medical facility where he was receiving treatment.

Now the historian has returned to his main work as well. His first video since the break appeared on the Vox Veritatis YouTube channel on October 19.

Before resuming his posts, Vitalii Dribnytsia asked viewers to be understanding about possible shortcomings and delays. Because of the long break, he has few videos ready, and the equipment he uses does not allow him to edit videos quickly.

At the same time, the blogger plans to gradually resume YouTube releases and Patreon posts. An extended feature consisting of several thematic parts has also been announced on the platform.

Nearly 10 years battling cancer

Vitalii Dribnytsia, who is 61 years old, has been battling cancer for nearly a decade. He has undergone numerous stages of treatment, but his condition worsened significantly after another course of chemotherapy.

Back on August 25, 2026, Korabelov.info reported that the historian needed financial assistance. At the time, his longtime friend, Anatolii Podolskyi, director of the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, appealed to Ukrainians to help fund his treatment at a clinic in Germany.

The necessary fundraising campaign was later completed thanks to support from concerned people. Vitalii Dribnytsia himself announced this on his Telegram channel and asked people to stop sending money.

However, there is currently no information that the historian has completed treatment or made a full recovery. His return to video blogging signals that he has resumed his creative work, but it does not mean that his battle with the illness is over.

“My friend, this is my trench”

Vitalii Dribnytsia is a historian, teacher, education specialist, and co-author of school textbooks on the history of Ukraine. He created his YouTube channel, Vox Veritatis, in 2021. He gained popularity for conversations with Russians on Chatroulette, during which he debunks Kremlin propaganda claims, explains historical events, and exposes manipulation.

As of August 2026, the channel had around 590,000 subscribers. Korabelov.info also featured his work in an article about Ukrainian debaters who counter Russian propaganda with historical facts.

Hundreds of followers have left messages of support beneath the announcement of his return, wishing the historian strength, good health, and victory over the illness.
