Seven fires in one day in Mykolaiv region: child hospitalized — State Emergency Service report
In Horokhiv, a Mother Took Her Little Ones Out into the Yard
During October 18 and the night of October 19, 7 fires broke out in Mykolaiv Oblast. A child born in 2024 was injured in one of them and was hospitalized. In total, 4 fires occurred in residential areas.
The child was injured in the village of Horokhivske, Bashtanka Raion. Household items caught fire in a room of a private house. According to preliminary information, the child was in that room at the time.
The mother carried the child into the yard, from where they were taken to hospital. The preliminary diagnosis is smoke inhalation. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which covered an area of 5 sq. m.
Other fires in residential areas affected the following properties:
- in the village of Kinetspil, Pervomaisk Raion — a residential house, with the fire covering 60 sq. m;
- in the city of Pervomaisk — a summer kitchen on the grounds of a private household, with the fire covering 30 sq. m;
- in the city of Bashtanka — a residential house, with the fire covering 30 sq. m.
Two fires broke out in Mykolaiv: rubbish burned in an open area, while the entrance’s plastic doors caught fire at a bank branch.
In the settlement of Kazanka, Bashtanka Raion, a metal kiosk that is currently not in use caught fire.
