An electricity bill for unmetered consumption can exceed one million hryvnias
“Mykolaivoblenergo” is looking for illegal connections and tampering with meters
Additional charges for unmetered electricity can exceed one million hryvnias in some cases. JSC Mykolaivoblenergo is continuing inspections and searching for consumers who have violated the rules for using the power grid.
This applies to consumers who:
- connected to the power grid illegally;
- interfered with the operation of electricity meters;
- used electricity without it being metered.
Consumers may be charged extra for unmetered electricity at a calculated rate that is three times higher than the standard rate. Therefore, violations can result in significant financial costs.
Attempts to conceal unmetered electricity use do not guarantee that it will go undetected. Consumers are urged not to try to bypass the electricity metering system and are warned that they will have to pay for any violations discovered.
