The price of gas for households will not be increased until spring 2027

The government extended the special obligations on the natural gas market until March 31, 2027. Thanks to this, the gas price for households will not change throughout the entire autumn-winter period. According to Telegram @Koretskyi_official.

Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced the decision.

The decision also preserves special conditions for the supply and sale of natural gas for several consumer categories:

• preferential conditions for heat-supply companies;
• current terms for selling gas to gas distribution system operators;
• terms for selling natural gas for cogeneration in frontline areas.

When making the decision, the country’s economic situation and the current moratorium on tariff increases during the state of martial law were taken into account.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine explained how the extension of the special conditions is expected to affect the gas market and the energy system:

“This will make it possible to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted supply of natural gas, the safety and reliability of the functioning of the natural gas market, and the stability of the operation of thermal facilities and Ukraine’s energy system as a whole.”

At the same time, the government, together with other authorities, is preparing changes to tariff policy. Planned measures include a more transparent tariff-setting mechanism and increased targeted assistance to people who need it.

In Mykolaiv Oblast, the regional military administration has previously prepared contingency plans for a possible prolonged gas supply outage in winter.
