In Mykolaiv, a condominium association installed a solar power station for the building's critical systems

In one of the buildings in Mykolaiv, an HOA installed a solar power station under the “GreenDIM” program of the Energy Efficiency Fund. The solar power system has been operating for several months now for the benefit of residents and provides electricity to the building’s important systems.

This spring the co-owners contacted the Mykolaiv Energy Efficiency Center and submitted an application to install the system. By the summer the building received a modern solar power station.

Currently the power station supplies:

• internal lighting;
• the intercom;
• waste bin management system;
• a water delivery point.

During power outages the station can also support the operation of the boiler room. The estimated autonomous operating time is 6–7 hours.

Residents evaluate the result positively and note that installing the solar power station has made the building more energy-independent.

The next step for the HOA will be modernization of the elevator equipment. In the future it is planned to connect it to the solar power station to increase the building’s autonomy.
