In Mykolaiv, a man pushed the store’s female employees and fled with perfumes
A 36-year-old man was detained for several hours
During the day on September 7 in Mykolaiv a man took a bottle of perfume from a well-known brand in a store and tried to leave without paying for the item. When the store employees tried to stop him, he pushed them aside and fled with the perfume.
A report of the robbery was received by Police Station No. 2 of the Mykolaiv District Department from a store employee. An investigative-operational team and officers from the territorial police unit arrived at the scene.
Police obtained a description of the man and reviewed CCTV footage. Within several hours they established his identity and location. The suspect turned out to be a 36-year-old resident of the regional centre who had previously been prosecuted for property crimes.
The man was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He had already managed to sell the stolen goods.
Under the procedural supervision of the Mykolaiv City District Prosecutor’s Office, investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — robbery committed under martial law.
The man faces up to 10 years in prison. The court is expected to decide a preventive measure for him in the near future. Law enforcement officers are establishing the whereabouts of the perfume to return it to the retail establishment. The pre-trial investigation continues.
