In Mykolaiv the court imposed a preventive measure on a 53-year-old serviceman suspected of treason. This was reported on 7 September 2026 by the press service of the Central District Court of Mykolaiv.

According to the motion, the man allegedly agreed, for monetary compensation, to provide a representative of the Russian FSB with information about the movements and deployment of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As the investigation claims, the serviceman sent text and graphic materials that could be used to determine the locations of Ukrainian military personnel in the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. In court the suspect did not admit guilt. He stated that third parties could have remotely accessed his phone and that he did not send any information himself. At the same time, the man and his defender did not object to granting the investigators’ motion.

Investigating judge Ivan Dirko ordered the suspect to be remanded in custody without setting bail. The serviceman’s actions were preliminarily qualified under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — treason committed under martial law.
