In the Mykolaiv region, a stepfather and another man are suspected of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl

In the Mykolaiv region, police detained a 54-year-old man suspected of sexual violence against his 13-year-old stepdaughter and of forcing her to create intimate photos and videos. During the investigation, law enforcement officers identified another man suspected of raping the same child.

This was reported by the Department of Migration Police. According to the investigation materials, in January 2026 the stepfather began blackmailing the girl with intimate videos he had recorded on his phone. He gave the child money and bought groceries, but in return forced her to make intimate photos and videos. The man is also suspected of sexual violence against his stepdaughter.

The detainee has been charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. These include human trafficking, rape, sexual corruption of minors, and criminal offenses related to child pornography.

During the investigation, police established another incident of violence against the girl. According to the investigation, in August 2025 she met a 42-year-old man on Telegram. After communicating, he suggested they meet. During one of those meetings, authorities say, the man coerced the girl into sexual acts and raped her.

This suspect was also detained. He is charged with rape and sexual molestation of a child for sexual purposes.

The court ordered pretrial detention for both men without the right to post bail. If convicted, they may face up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.

Specialists are working with the girl using the «Barnahus» methodology. The child is also receiving psychological assistance. The pretrial investigation is ongoing.
