Ukrainian actor and native of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Rudynskyi spoke about working on the new family comedy «Chervona Ruta Train». In the film he played one of the leading roles — he portrayed a young conductor who is self-confident, somewhat frivolous, but at the same time good-natured.
The film’s premiere in Ukrainian cinemas is scheduled for August 20, 2026. Rudynskyi spoke about the filming in an interview with NV, specifically mentioning his collaboration with Stanislav Boklan and the young actress Nikol Matskul, who is also connected to Mykolaiv.
Taking part in «Chervona Ruta Train» helped Rudynskyi fulfill a long-standing professional dream — to work with Stanislav Boklan. The actor said he almost immediately agreed to the role after the casting director informed him that most of his scenes would be shared with Boklan.
Rudynskyi called Boklan a true professional and confessed that he had long wanted to work with him. During the filming process the actors spent a lot of time together not only in front of the camera but also during breaks.
Nikol Matskul also played one of the roles in the new comedy. For the actress this project became her debut in feature films. Talking about working with young colleagues, Rudynskyi especially noted Matskul and her ties to his native city.
“Nikol is yet another actress from my native city. There should be more of us, we must glorify Mykolaiv,” said Oleksandr Rudynskyi.
According to the actor, he was pleasantly impressed by Matskul’s sincerity and professional naivety, which, in his opinion, is especially noticeable at the beginning of an actor’s career.
Oleksandr Rudynskyi was born in Mykolaiv and began studying theater arts while still in school. Later he graduated from the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Film and Television named after Karpenko-Kary. Since 2018 the actor has worked at the Ivan Franko Theatre.
It was previously reported that the Mykolaiv-born actor Oleksandr Rudynskyi will appear in the Hollywood adaptation of the anime «Gundam». He also received an award from the President of Ukraine.
