In Mykolaiv, a hospital has begun performing operations using a new laparoscopic system
The equipment has already been put into operation in the gynecology department
In the new gynecology department of Mykolaiv City Hospital No. 1, a modern laparoscopic tower for minimally invasive surgeries has been put into operation. The equipment has already been commissioned, and doctors are performing the first procedures on it.
The system was purchased and delivered by UNOPS with funding from the pharmaceutical company «Novo Nordisk». It is equipped with a 4K camera, hysteroscopic equipment, and a LigaSure system.
The new equipment allows operations to be performed faster, more precisely, and more safely. In particular, doctors can operate on the ovaries and fallopian tubes, remove cysts, polyps, and fibroids, and also perform laparoscopic removal of the uterus.
The head of the gynecology department, Vadym Beblo, noted that the LigaSure system allows tissues to be coagulated and cut simultaneously. This helps significantly reduce the duration of operations.
Thanks to minimally invasive technologies, patients recover faster after procedures and can return home within a few days. Women will be able to receive medical care on the new equipment not only from Mykolaiv, but from across Mykolaiv Oblast and neighboring regions.
