Ukrzaliznytsia deploys protective structures against FPV drones at frontline railway stations

Ukrzaliznytsia is strengthening the protection of frontline stations against FPV drone attacks by deploying engineering security measures at railway facilities in risk zones amid an expansion of the strike area by Russian forces.

The company’s press service announced the start of the work, noting that special monitoring groups together with specialized teams are installing protective structures to improve the safety of passengers and staff and to preserve critical infrastructure.

According to the company, they are prioritizing reinforcement of the most vulnerable sections on station premises and adjacent tracks to minimize the consequences of possible FPV drone strikes and reduce risks to people while on platforms and inside buildings.

Passengers are urged to strictly follow safety rules: in the event of an air raid alarm, immediately proceed to the nearest shelters or move to a safe distance from station buildings and rolling stock.

Ukrzaliznytsia publishes detailed explanations and operational notices on its Telegram channel UkrzalInfo, where it provides information about current threats and temporary changes in the operation of infrastructure facilities.

Against the backdrop of the security situation, authorities remind that after a massive Russian attack on the night of 6 July the State Emergency Service introduced movement restrictions on certain sections of the railway in Kyiv Oblast, as a result of which Ukrzaliznytsia reported significant delays to passenger trains and adjustments to traffic organization.
