Central Research Institute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 22 July 2026 presented a closed intellectual-information system “Marichka”, intended to speed up decision preparation at the brigade, army corps and troop grouping levels.

About the development during a press conference at “Ukrinform” on the topic “Military innovations: main achievements for the first half of 2026” reported the head of the institute Yurii Klyat. According to him, currently regimental and brigade commanders process about 20 documents and spend from 6 to 12 hours preparing a decision. The new system is expected to reduce this process to a few minutes.

In terms of interaction “Marichka” resembles ChatGPT, but will operate in a closed military environment. The neural network will collect, process and verify data, automatically calculate force-and-means ratios, resource needs and possible losses, as well as model the situation on an interactive map and report its changes. The system will offer the command possible courses of action, however, as Yurii Klyat emphasized, “the final decision will remain with the commander”.

During trials “Marichka” completed the assigned tasks on test data. Developers plan to continue training the neural network, secure the channels of information exchange and upload orders and documents with the classification marks “DSK” and “secret”. The next stage will involve working with materials that have higher secrecy markings. The technical specifications of the system are not disclosed for security reasons.

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Lebedenko noted that elements of artificial intelligence are already used in drones, radars and weapon control systems. According to him, “Marichka” should significantly speed up information processing, troop control and the use of weapons on the battlefield.
