In the evening of July 9, 2026 near the country complex Edem Kyiv in Koncha-Zaspa in the Kyiv region there was an attack on the film crew of “Ukrainska Pravda“.

According to the head of the publication’s investigations department Mykhailo Tkach, guards poured green antiseptic (zelyonka) on the outlet’s cameraman and driver while Lviv businessman and former people’s deputy Ihor Kryvetskyi was celebrating at the complex. The green antiseptic did not hit the victims in the face.

Mykhailo Tkach reported the attack and the appeal to law enforcement.

“Last night (July 9 – ed.) during Ihor Kryvetskyi’s celebration at the country complex “Edem Kyiv” guards carried out an attack on the “Ukrainska Pravda” film crew using green antiseptic. Thank God the green antiseptic did not hit the cameraman’s or driver’s face. A report has been submitted to the police. We expect a swift and objective response from law enforcement agencies”.

The journalist emphasized that roads remain public territory, and any attempts to obstruct the work of the media should receive legal assessment. In the photos he published, the clothing of one of the crew members is seen stained with green liquid.

According to National Police spokeswoman Yuliia Hirdvilis, law enforcement in the Kyiv region entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 1 of Article 171 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – obstruction of the lawful professional activity of journalists. Currently all circumstances of the incident and the persons who may have been involved in the attack are being established.

Ihor Kryvetskyi denied that his personal security or Edem Kyiv security staff could have been involved in the incident.

“I have never engaged in that, and if journalists have questions for me or I have questions for journalists, I address them publicly”.

At the same time the businessman said there are no recordings from surveillance cameras because the complex allegedly operates in test mode. Thus, who exactly poured green antiseptic on the outlet’s employees has not yet been officially determined.

The attack was also addressed by the international Committee to Protect Journalists. The organization called on the Ukrainian authorities to immediately conduct an investigation and emphasized that journalists must be able to work without intimidation and physical obstruction.

Edem Kyiv is a 5-star country complex on the banks of the Dnipro, which opened after a lengthy reconstruction in 2025. It is located on an area of about 1 hectare and is linked to Ihor Kryvetskyi’s business. From 2012 to 2014 he was a people’s deputy from the All-Ukrainian Union “Svoboda” and secretary of the parliamentary committee on tax and customs policy.

In 2019 ZAXID.NET reported that Ihor Kryvetskyi’s company became the owner of 65.51 hectares in the village of Strilky in the Lviv region. These lands were formed from plots previously received by 29 people, among them ATO participants, resort employees and their relatives. The total area of land associated with the Edem Resort after that exceeded 110 hectares.
