Torture of young children at a private kindergarten: in Mykolaiv, police are investigating the actions of a caregiver
The ages of the injured children range from one and a half to three years
In Mykolaiv, a caregiver at a private kindergarten is accused of torturing four children in her care. The unlawful actions were uncovered by the parents of the affected children.
This is reported by the Communications Department of the Mykolaiv Regional Police.
On June 26, 2026, parents filed complaints with Police Station No. 1 of the Mykolaiv District Police Department. The adults noticed abrasions, bruises and scratches on their children’s bodies.
In addition, the abuse was clearly recorded by the facility’s internal video surveillance cameras.
The investigation established that a boy and three girls were harmed by the actions of the kindergarten employee. The ages of the injured children range from one and a half to three years old.
So far, law enforcement officers have issued referrals for the injured children to undergo forensic medical examinations to determine the severity of the injuries. Juvenile prevention officers were involved to clarify the circumstances of the incident and to provide psychological work with the children.
Police are checking whether there are other victims of this woman’s actions. Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (torture). The article’s penalty provides for imprisonment for up to six years.
The pre-trial investigation is currently ongoing.
