Ukraine strikes at Russia's war economy: refineries, air defenses, command posts and drone production have been damaged
Storm Shadow struck targets in Voronezh, Taganrog and Sevastopol: General Staff revealed details of the strikes
General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 28 May 2026 reported a new series of strikes on important facilities of the Russian occupiers. Among the targets – the refinery “Tuapsinsky” in Tuapse Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation, hardware-software complexes of reconnaissance automation systems of the Russian Aerospace Forces, air defense facilities, command posts, a material and technical supply depot and UAV production facilities.
On the night of 27 May 2026 units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the Tuapsinsky refinery. A fire and smoke were recorded on the plant’s premises. The scale of the damage is currently being clarified. According to the General Staff, the Tuapsinsky refinery is one of the largest refineries in the south of the Russian Federation. Its processing capacity is about 12 million tons of oil per year. The plant produces fuel, including to supply the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
It was reported separately that units of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using air-launched missiles Storm Shadow, struck hardware-software complexes of reconnaissance automation systems of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the areas of Voronezh Voronezh Oblast, Russian Federation, Taganrog Rostov Oblast, Russian Federation and Sevastopol in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
In addition, the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck command posts of the occupiers’ units in the areas of the settlements Tsvitni Pisky and Sorokyne Luhansk Oblast.
A material and technical supply depot in Sorokyne in Luhansk region was also hit, as well as a UAV production facility in the area of Azovske Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Among other confirmed targets – the radar station “Nebo-SV” in the area of Kamianka and a command-and-staff vehicle from the occupiers’ “Buk-M2” complex near Kadiivka Luhansk Oblast.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that the Defense Forces of Ukraine will continue to systematically work to weaken the military-economic potential of the Russian occupiers and to force the Russian Federation to end its armed aggression against Ukraine.
