40 years on stage — and it’s only the beginning: "Okeanochka" celebrated its anniversary

May 16 2026 at the Children’s School of Arts No. 2 an anniversary celebratory concert of the People’s Vocal Ensemble “Okeanochka” took place, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the ensemble’s creative activity.

The ensemble is directed by Donchenko Olena Oleksandrivna. For four decades “Okeanochka” has been giving audiences Ukrainian song, preserving folk traditions, and fostering a love for Ukrainian culture.

During the concert program the ensemble’s favorite songs and new vocal pieces were performed, along with words of congratulations and well-wishes. The atmosphere of the event was filled with sincere emotions, gratitude, and the audience’s applause.

Creative groups from MMPC “Korabelny” took part in the celebratory concert. Among the participants were the People’s Vocal Ensemble “Vitovchany” under the direction of Stefaniuk Vasyl Yosypovych, Ihor Zinevych, a member of the pop vocal studio “SOLO” led by Ovsyannikova Svitlana Mykolaivna, as well as the Exemplary Dance Ensemble “Vodogray”, which is led by Cheban Svitlana Volodymyrivna.

The anniversary of “Okeanochka” was not just a concert but a celebration of Ukrainian song, creativity, and cultural resilience. At a time when Ukraine is defending itself from Russian aggression, such events particularly remind us that culture, language, and song are also part of our strength.
