War is stealing childhood: this year alone, 89 children in the Korabelnyi district have been granted victim status
Nine more tasks are still in progress
Specialists of the Children’s Service of the Korabelnyi District Administration during the past week once again reviewed appeals regarding granting the status of a child who has been affected by hostilities and armed conflicts.
As of 15 May 2026 in the Korabelnyi District of the city of Mykolaiv this status has already been granted in the current year to 89 individuals. Four other individuals were denied.
Also, three draft decisions of the executive committee have been prepared. Currently, nine cases remain pending.
Compared with the previous data as of 8 May 2026, the number of children who were granted the status of those affected by the war increased by six individuals.
This concerns children whose lives have been affected by Russian aggression: shelling, forced displacement, psychological trauma, loss of a sense of security and a normal childhood. The status itself is an official recognition that the child has been harmed as a result of hostilities and armed conflicts.
