Beach wrestling, judo and acrobatics: Mykolaiv athletes conquer the world

Over the past few days the students of Mykolaiv sports schools Mykolaiv have successfully performed at competitions of various levels and added new awards to the city’s treasury. Mykolaiv athletes won medals both at international events and at the Ukrainian Championship.

April 13, 2026, in the city of Portimão in Portugal the European Championships among adults, youth, juniors and junior girls concluded. As part of the national team of Ukraine, a pupil of KDYuSSh “Peremoha” Yaroslav Yehorov became the bronze medalist in the team standings among juniors in tumbling. In the individual competition he placed seventh.

Another bronze medal for the city was won by a representative of the Youth Martial Arts Sports School Ivan Ryabikov. He became a prize-winner of an international judo tournament that took place from April 5 to 8, 2026 in the Serbian city of Kikinda.

The Ukrainian Beach Wrestling Championship also ended successfully for Mykolaiv athletes; it finished on April 10, 2026 in Kyiv. As a result of the tournament Mykolaiv athletes won three medals.

The champion among adults in the 90 kg weight category was Oleksii Yakovchuk. The silver medal among juniors in the 90 kg category was won by Vyacheslav Babkov. The bronze medal among adults in the 65 kg weight category was won by Mykola Rezanov.

These results once again confirmed that the Mykolaiv sports school continues to train competitive athletes capable of fighting for awards not only in Ukraine but also at the international level.
