Russia is intensifying its offensive in the south, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hold the lines: Syrskyi reinforces the front with drones and ammunition
During a visit to the Southern Operational Zone, Syrskyi agreed on measures for active defense and to strengthen coordination among units
In southern Ukraine Russian forces are trying to increase pressure and change the situation in their favor, however units of the Defense Forces are holding back the enemy and inflicting significant losses. The current situation was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi after a working visit to the Southern Operational Zone.
During his visit to this direction he held a meeting with the heads of military command bodies and unit commanders involved in containing Russian aggression. The discussion mainly concerned the operational situation and the necessary decisions to improve the effectiveness of the defense.
Following the meeting, further actions were agreed to maintain an active defense, including strengthening interaction between different tactical links on certain sections of the front and improving coordination during the execution of combat tasks.
The Commander-in-Chief heard commanders’ reports on the needs of the units and issued instructions to accelerate the supply of ammunition, unmanned systems and other necessary equipment to increase firepower and the troops’ mobility.
Commenting on the situation, he emphasized that, despite the enemy’s force buildup, Ukrainian units are holding the designated lines, and the priority remains exhausting the enemy and preserving the lives of our military and civilians.
“Russian occupying forces are strengthening their grouping and are not abandoning attempts to turn the course of hostilities to their advantage. The Defense Forces of Ukraine steadfastly hold certain lines. Our goals remain unchanged – to inflict maximum losses on the enemy in order to exhaust them, liberate Ukrainian territories, preserve lives”.
