Civilians in the crosshairs: Russians are again firing on ordinary cars in the Mykolaiv region
"Opel" vs. drone: the car didn't stand a chance
In Mykolaiv Oblast law enforcement officers are documenting another war crime by Russian occupiers. According to the police, during the day April 4 2026 an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle attacked a civilian car near the village of Bereznehuvate in the Bashtanskyi district.
A passenger vehicle, an Opel Insignia, which at the time of the attack was near the settlement, was hit. As a result of the strike a 45-year-old man was wounded. The exact nature of his injuries is not specified in the report. The vehicle itself was completely destroyed by the strike. There is practically nothing left of the car.
Investigators have opened a pre-trial investigation into the commission of a war crime under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers are recording the consequences of the attack and collecting evidence of another crime by the aggressor country against the civilian population.
A 34-year-old woman was also injured and was hospitalized.
