In the Korabelnyi District of Mykolaiv, inspections of shops and service establishments are ongoing to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language”.

From 30 March to 3 April 2026, specialists of the Department for Trade and Entrepreneurship Coordination of the district administration carried out further inspection raids. During this period they inspected 27 establishments, identified 2 violations and issued 2 warnings. One more establishment, according to the administration, did not conduct business activity.

During the raids entrepreneurs were reminded that outdoor advertising, announcements, signs, indicators and other information about goods and services must be presented in the state language. They were also told that the language of customer service in Ukraine is Ukrainian, and for violations of the law a business entity may receive a warning or a fine. The district administration has already repeatedly provided such explanations in previous reports on “language” raids.

The administration separately emphasized that if the requirements of the law are ignored and citizens’ rights are further violated, the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, in accordance with Art. 57 of the law, may apply a warning or penalties to the business entity. In addition, pursuant to Art. 188-52 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences (КУпАП), for a first offence a warning or a fine from 3,400 to 8,500 hryvnias is provided, and for a repeat within a year – from 8,500 to 11,900 hryvnias.
