The Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration appealed to the region’s residents on the eve of Easter with an important warning. Due to the war, celebrations will take place with restrictions: people are urged not to ignore the curfew, to respond to air raid alerts, and to avoid large gatherings near churches. Authorities ask that special attention be paid to safety during religious services and the blessing of baskets.

“The bright feast of the Resurrection of Christ will be celebrated soon. Easter is the main event of the church year for all Christians, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness and of good over evil. The Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reminds everyone of the importance of observing martial law restrictions during festive services, in particular the rules of the curfew in the region.

We ask you to respond promptly to air raid sirens and to use the nearest shelters. For safety, we ask the leaders of religious communities to organize festive events, first of all the blessing of Easter baskets, in a way that prevents the gathering of large numbers of people.

We also urge believers of all denominations to show Christian love, respect and tolerance toward one another. If suspicious items are found on the grounds of religious buildings, please immediately notify the National Police of Ukraine by calling “102”. Peaceful holidays!”
