The General Staff has simplified transfers between units: e-recommendations instead of four approvals
The submission is now prepared by the receiving unit and sent online; the commander of the current unit is required to review it as soon as possible
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported the implementation of systemic changes that simplify the transfer of servicemembers between military units in Ukraine, in particular thanks to the ability to submit recommendation letters electronically.
According to the agency, the new procedure allows a recommendation letter to be sent via electronic document management from the military unit to which the servicemember wishes to transfer directly to his current unit for prompt review by the commander.
The General Staff clarified the details of the implemented mechanism.
“Indeed, recently a simplified mechanism has been introduced for sending, via electronic document management, a recommendation letter for a servicemember from the military unit to which he wishes to transfer to the military unit where he serves. The introduced mechanism guarantees that the recommendation letter will necessarily be reviewed by the unit commander as quickly as possible“
After the changes, servicemembers no longer need to have the recommendation letter approved at the levels of squad, platoon, company, and battalion commanders, which removes intermediate approval links in the chain of command.
The steps are expected to reduce the influence of subjective factors during decision-making and reduce the number of approvals from heads of structural subdivisions, as well as ensure a prompt review of requests at the unit command level.
