In the first three months of 2026 the Cabinet of Ministers spent more than three quarters of the funds from the state budget’s reserve fund.
The scale of the resource’s use was reported by «Ekonomichna Pravda» citing an official response from the Ministry of Finance.
According to the Ministry of Finance, as of 18 March the undistributed balance of the reserve fund amounted to UAH 24.63 billion of the UAH 49.42 billion provided for in the budget.
Later the government made a number of further decisions on the allocation of funds: on 20 March an additional UAH 12.85 billion was allocated, and on 25 March — another UAH 0.72 billion.
As a result, on 30 March approximately UAH 11.06 billion remained in the reserve fund, which corresponds to only 22.4% of the planned annual funding.
Some of the spending went to areas without an urgent need. In particular, UAH 2.138 billion was allocated to support domestic demand through the program «National Cashback» — almost 5% of the entire fund.
