Two champions, five medals: Mykolaiv para-athletes made a loud statement on the world stage
From March 19 to 22 2026, a stage of the Wheelchair Fencing World Cup took place in Budapest. Approximately 150 athletes from 20 countries participated in the tournament.
Mykolaiv at this competition was represented by pupils of the regional center “Invasport”, who competed as part of the national team of Ukraine. As a result of the international start, Mykolaiv para-athletes won five medals and once again confirmed the high level of the local fencing school. The team events in epee were the most successful for the Mykolaiv athletes. It was there that champions Oleh Naumenko and Oleksiy Zakusilov helped the Ukraine team climb to the top step of the podium.
