Language raids in Korablevnyi continue: 3 violations found in a week

In the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv, specialists from the department of trade coordination and entrepreneurship of the district administration carried out another round of raids to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language”. Inspections lasted from 06.04 to 10.04.2026 and concerned trade and service sector facilities. During this period, 27 establishments were inspected in the district.

As a result of the raids, violations of language legislation were recorded in 3 cases; in 2 cases business entities were issued warnings. Another 2 establishments included in the inspection list did not carry out economic activity.

During the inspections, explanatory conversations were held with entrepreneurs. They were reminded that outdoor advertising, signs, announcements, directions and other public information about goods and services must be provided in the state language. Business representatives were specifically reminded that the language of customer service in Ukraine is Ukrainian.

The district administration also reminded about the liability for ignoring these requirements. If an entrepreneur does not bring their activities into compliance with the law and continues to violate citizens’ rights, the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language may issue a warning or apply punitive sanctions. Under Art. 188-52 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, for the first violation a warning or a fine from 3,400 UAH to 8,500 UAH is provided, and for a repeat within a year – from 8,500 UAH to 11,900 UAH.
