Zelensky noted that Kyiv is ready to act symmetrically in response to Moscow’s statement, and reminded that the Ukrainian side had previously proposed a ceasefire for the Easter holidays.
In the address the president emphasized the need for safe celebrations and urged Russia not to resume shelling even after the end of the holiday period.
“People need an Easter without threats and a genuine move toward peace, and Russia has a chance not to return to strikes after Easter”
Earlier the Kremlin reported that Vladimir Putin announced an “Easter truce” which, according to their version, is to take effect from 16:00 11 April until the end of the day on 12 April — this was stated in reports by Russian media.
