Are parcel lockers no longer secure? Young man "took out" parcels worth hundreds of thousands
Your shipment may have disappeared: how a minor bypassed the delivery system
According to information provided by the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast police April 9, 2026, law enforcement uncovered a minor resident of Kryvyi Rih who interfered with the operation of parcel lockers. The teenager studied in detail the algorithms of the official mobile application of the delivery service used to receive shipments. After that he created his own program that allowed bypassing the standard payment procedure.
In addition, the teenager developed a fake application visually similar to the official service, through which he obtained unauthorized access to automated systems. As a result, parcels were shown in the system as already paid, and could be collected from the parcel lockers without making a payment. The total amount of damage, according to preliminary estimates, is about 500 thousand hryvnias.
March 27, 2026 investigators, in agreement with the Kryvyi Rih Central District Prosecutor’s Office, notified the suspect of suspicion under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 361, Part 4 of Article 185, Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
